Welcome to duration-calc! This simple command-line tool allows you to perform quick time calculations using natural language. It’s perfect for anyone who needs to add or subtract time durations easily.
To get started, simply visit this page to download the software: Releases Page.
If you are using Windows, the file will usually be in your “Downloads” folder. For Mac or Linux, the process is similar.
To run duration-calc, your system should meet the following minimum requirements:
For Windows:
Win + R, type cmd, and press Enter.For Mac:
Applications, then Utilities, and double-click Terminal.For Linux:
Ctrl + Alt + T.Use the cd command to change directories to where you downloaded the file. For instance, if you downloaded to the “Downloads” folder, type:
cd Downloads
Now, run the application by typing:
duration-calc.exe
./duration-calc
Once the tool is running, simply type your time calculations in natural language format. For example:
2h 30m + 45m1h 15m - 20mPress Enter, and you will see the results instantly displayed in the terminal.
Here are a few examples to get you started:
Adding Durations:
Input: 1h 40m + 30m
Output: 2h 10m
Subtracting Durations:
Input: 3h - 1h 15m
Output: 1h 45m
Combining Operations:
Input: 2h 30m + 45m - 1h
Output: 2h 15m
